BRC Fallow Deer

Here comes our newest adventure. 🦌 

Brendan always has new and great ideas of projects to tackle. So I wasn’t surprised when he approached me with another new idea; Fallow Deer.

What’s a fallow deer?🧐

Fallow deer are beautiful and sweet medium sized deer that originated from the Turkey area. They come in 4 main colors with variation of patterns from white to tan to black. The bucks have really cool shovel shaped antlers as they get older. They stand approximately 3 feet tall (at the shoulder).  

Of course we had to learn more about these deer so we took a little family field trip to Farmers Fallows. We had a blast exploring his fallow deer farm. We were even able to feed the deer and walk among them. In addition to our field trip, we dived into researching the best ways raise them. We even spent time watching episodes of ” Deer and Wildlife Stories”.

So I said what every awesome wife says “let’s do this!” We are already raising children, bees, and cattle, why not add some deer to the mix?
