Farmers Fallows AI Day

A huge thank you to Brad at Farmers Fallows for inviting us to attend his AI day. Brendan was able to go but I had to skip as we couldn’t secure childcare for the day. Just another factor that has to be taken into account when your dream is a family deer ranch. We honestly wouldn’t have it any other way.

It was a big day at Farmer’s Fallows as they were artificially inseminating their does. The semen came from several bucks; Houdini, Thor, Extra and Ice Man from 4T Fallows ranch and Arnie and Koros from Cleve Tedford’s ranch.  These bucks are known for having great genetics so it will be exciting to see what Farmers Fallows fawns will look like next spring. It was great that Brendan had another opportunity to learn more about the process and see how another ranch has it all set up. We are so blessed to have made connections with so many wonderful people in the fallow deer industry.

Farmers Fallows has an impressive operation. They have been in business with fallow deer for 32 years. They have a large 40 acre pen that allows their fallow deer to graze and have a sense of freedom. They also butcher and process venison meat cuts and products locally and sell through their website. Hop on over to their website if you are looking for a unique Christmas gift or menu item for dinner.

It’s always a good idea to gain as much experience as you can as well as help out where possible. We will work hard to show up and help others as we know how important it is to have others willing to jump in with knowledge and helping hands. We can’t wait to see what springtime looks like over at Farmers Fallows!
