As I was packing in preparation of our holiday travel, my 4 year old son was talking on the phone with his Nana:
Son: “Nana did you know Santa has 8 reindeer?”
Nana: “Yes I did”
Son: “Did you know it snows at the North Pole?”
Nana: “Yes it does”
Son: “We have snow, we have deer and we have presents …….. Nana! Are we the North Pole?”
Man would it be nice to live at the north pole and have all those elves helping with all the chores especially in the cold weather? Unfortunately we do not have any magic elves helping us. Thankfully we have a really great neighbor that helps us out by coming by and feeding the deer and cows. This is especially necessary in the bitter cold weather as he also makes sure the water has not frozen over. We make sure there’s a good supply of feed and put out a fresh hay bale out in each pen to ensure all animals have food and something warm to lay in and around.
Upon arriving home from our Christmas holiday travel, I was excited to find the Exoctic Wildlife Association Magazine in our mailbox. I am thrilled to share that my first ever article was published in their December 2022 issue. The Deer Wife is now a column in the Exotic Wildlife Association Biannual magazine!
