He’s not just handsome…

Not everything in life is cut and dry, black or white, planned and created EXACTLY to the original specs. Flexibility is a valuable life skill. Not everyone has the ability to go with the flow especially if that means it may not look perfect in the end.

I have mentioned before how Brendan has this amazing ability to make things a reality from a vision. He has and continues to work hard to design and build multiple projects around the farm. He also helps me with some of mine! Many of his projects are perfect replicas of the original design, BUT not all the time. Sometimes he encounters a snag or new information and needs to adjust his plans. Sometimes he thinks of a better way. Other times he discovers a cheaper material that requires some new engineering. His ability to go with the flow, constantly re-evaluate to persist through an entire project is astounding!

When Brendan designed our fallow deer pen system, he designed it using 16′ gates. Which is an ideal gate size. Since Brendan is ALWAYS on the look out for a good deal on a quality item, YOU KNOW he wouldn’t pass up a steal of a deal on used 12′ chain link gates. This change of gate size required a little re-engineering of the original design plan since the gate openings were already set in stone….. literally. Have I mentioned that our homestead sits on a rock ledge?? Our finalized gates may not look perfect, BUT they are perfect for the job needed. It is also another job completed with some $$$ saved! Which is the ultimate WIN-WIN in my book.

It’s functional and looks….. functional.
